RED TAILS

Have you seen the George Lucas' film "Red Tails?" We did not see this when it came out because the reviews were so negative. "It's a good film, but not as well done as the Tuskegee Airmen." Let me tell you, we rented the movie and it was outstanding!

The only reason why a "liberal" press would deem the film, as a "lousy" movie and lists it in "Rotten Tomatoes," is simply because these men represent the best of Americans and they were men who believed in Jesus Christ.

When we saw the movie one of the central figures was David "Deacon" Watkins.
He prayed before each trip and was not at all ashamed of his faith in Jesus Christ.

The entire movie portrayed the heroism, bravery and courage of the 332nd Fighter Group of Americans of African heritage who faced the enemy both in the air and on the ground. And they successfully overcame both winning the war in the air and winning the respect of the crews of the B-17 Flying Fortress Bombers they protected.

The men in this movie were smart, brilliant, talented and darn good flyers.
Their commanding officers were men of character and determination.

African American children should go and see this movie because it gives them something to cheer about!

If you have the time, go and find that movie and rent it! You will be very glad you did. And do some research and find out who the Tuskegee Airmen were and why we should honor them because they were willing to fight for a nation that treated them like second class citizens, because they were Americans too and they loved their country.

BeBe Winans, I understand, has a new CD out called America, America. It's time we right the wrongs and give honor where honor is due!

Sometimes Hollywood get's it right! And this time, regardless of whether every fact was accurate, this movie made me proud to be an American who believes in Jesus Christ!
